Jay Mappala

Founder/CEO

Jay is the founder of M Studios, Inc. He currently edits and produces television promotions, as well as other short and long-form content.

As a graduate from the University of Kentucky, Jay entered the highly competitive NBC Page Program, where he eventually began his professional career in post-production at NBC.

In 2005, Jay began editing for various cable and broadcast networks including Disney-ABC Cable Networks Group where he participated in three network rebrands including the recent relaunch from

ABC Family to Freeform.

With over 20 years of experience in post production, Jay has worked on multiple network upfront presentations and television series launches, collaborating with producers, creative directors and leading a team of editors.

 

Phillip Weskalnies

Co-Founder/COO

Phillip began his career as a co-owner of Avant-Garde Communications, Inc. In 1996, he was hired full time at The Family Channel as a Senior Writer/Producer in On-air Promotions. Phillip later became a Creative Director at Fox Family and subsequently ABC Family, for Ad Sales, Marketing and Affiliate Promotions. There, he developed an on-air ad sales franchise that leveraged millions of dollars in revenue for the network.

 

This speaks to a broader skill Phillip has cultivated over time.  Phillip understands that expertise in front-line content marketing strategies, market research, and multifaceted brand awareness is key to client success.

His passion lies in content and has the ability to translate his expertise and team leadership into innovative techniques to increase a company's bottom line.

 

Phillip is a proven content marketing leader with an ability to articulate a content vision or strategy that has clear ties to business goals. He possess expertise in the design and oversight of content marketing strategies, creative video production, brand value propositions, and strategic planning to meet marketing goals. Recognized for strategic leadership of creative agencies, start-ups, international teams, and in-house operations.

Ryan Patterson

Partner/Senior Editor

Ryan is a highly skilled editor who is proficient on both Avid and Adobe Premiere editing platforms.

Working his way through shows like The Tonight Show, The Other Half and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Ryan went on to his first dedicated editing job with ABC Family On-air Promotion in 2007. There, he quickly picked up the art of promo editing, going on to earn rare first-cut buys on upfront network sales presentations early in his career. Ryan’s talents were soon spread across Disney- ABC Cable Networks Group's two other brands – Disney Channel and SOAPnet.

Ryan is also an excellent cameraman. Since 2013, he has worked closely with our client, Turner Studios, on their live, LA-based red carpet shows for the Oscars, Emmys,

Golden Globes and Marvel premieres.
